  1. I believe the greatest achievement of Ancient China was their writing system. It laid the basis of communication, and the spread of ideas. It also allowed people to communicate with each other over distances.
Their writing system also was adapted by the Japanese and Korean, making it an influence not only on their region, but on other regions as well.

  2. I think Ancient China's greatest achievement was their creation of silk. This invention was fabulous because this material is really strong for its tension. Silkworms make silk and they were the first to find out. Fabrics and clothing they made from this was handmade and special. Other countries adopted this silkworm idea, but before it leaked, China tried to keep it secret. The unique material helped increase their trade profits and raised their economy.

  3. I believe that Chinas greatest achievment was their expert use of porcelain and their invention of the blue-and-white porcelain. Porcelain is a beautiful craft, and has been useful for pts, figurines, and such. It is a much prettier alternative to pottery, and is now spread throughtout the entire world. without the chinese perfection of this art, we our system of the arts would not have evolved to what it is today. Now porcelain is used for other objects, and would not have happened without this chinese devlopment of the porcelain and blue-and-white porcelain.

  4. I think China's greatest achievement is the wheeled vehicle. With them, people could carry a heavier load, without it feeling heavy, and people could get places faster. It also led to inventions in the future. Without the Chinese inventing wheeled vehicles, who knows how long it would be until some else thought of the idea and would we have cars today? This little invention got the ball rolling on "the future".

  5. I believe China's greatest invention is gunpowder because it truely made the biggest change in the world. Without the invention of gunpowder war may have still been with swords and bows. There may never have been weapons of mass destruction without gunpowder.

  9. I believe the greatest invention from China is their writing system based on characters and the block printing. The block printing led to greater literacy among the Chinese and more literature. The writing system of characters is very important and is still used today. Since the writing system is needed, Japan and Korea adopted it.

  10. I think that Chinas greatest invention was the ship. The ship could be used for many things. It could travel in water and go far distances. Also, it could hold a lot of trade items/cargo. If a group of people wanted to go somewhere to trade, they could go for a long time to a place far away and not have to come back to get more goods. Also, if people wanted to immigrate to another country, they could all take one ship, and it would hold everyone. The ship was one of the greatest inventions the Chinese made.

  12. I believe that Gun Powder has to be their greatest achievement. In second I would have to say their writing system and block printing. But gun powder is the biggest. At first it was used for fireworks, then they saw the true potential. It has advanced so far over the ages. No doubt, our weapons would not be as advanced if not for gun powder. Guns had to start somewhere, and that would have to be gun powder.

  13. In my opinion, the greatest achievement of Ancient China was their accurate calendar. Because of the calender, farmers knew when it was the right time to grow their crops and harvest them. The calendar was also essential to know what day it was to have holy festivals.

  14. I think the most important accomplishment of the Chinese was their comeback. They were successful and then took a negative turn due to relations with other countries, and forceful leaders. They then had to catch up with other nations who had advanced while they were isolated and left behind. They mostly fell behind in the area of technology and science. It was a huge accomplishment that they were able to step back up. Now China has one on the biggest economies! They are in trade with many nations and doing well for themselves.

  16. I believe the greatest achievement of Ancient China, that was used the most, was the writing system. Communication is what makes the world go round. Every aspect of the the human life is made up of having the ability to communicate with others. Without language, we would have nothing to fall back on. Whether its body language, speaking verbally, or being able to exchange thoughts through accomplishments like ideographs, they are all one unifying characteristic of culture, found throughout life, where ever you go. As for the greatest achievement of Ancient China, that was most beneficial for the Chinese and the rest of modern society today, it had to have been the bronze coins, a system of money. Not only was the Chinese one of the first civilizations to invent an organized money system, but they made it with such detail that many nations today base their money systems off of it. In order to have a stable and self-sufficient country, like China, you need a form of currency help your community remain, under control and not break out into chaos. Money, the basis of all societies, nations, countries, etc.. China was very picky about having distinct social classes and having a money system helped people fall into a category of "rich," and "poor," making bronze coins were convenient and beneficial to all. Even though having a strong writing system is significant, as well as having a currency system, I think they are the greatest achievements made by the Ancient Chinese in different ways and aspects.
